Norway struck oil in 1969 and invested the money instead of spending it. Its oil fund is now worth over $2 trillion. That’s more than $400,000 for every Norwegian, and it owns about 1.5% of every listed company on Earth. The catch: the government can only spend about 3% a year.
Smart, or should they cash out? 👇
*Estimate: NOK 22,683bn (NBIM, June 30, 2026) divided by 5.65M people is about NOK 4.0M each, roughly $400K+ at 9.6–9.9 NOK per dollar.
