Market Open FTSE100 Friday 11 September 2026

The FTSE 100 opened little changed at 10,608.95, as stronger UK growth data offset lingering Middle East tensions. The Euronext 100 opened 0. 09 percent higher, and Germany’s DAX rose 0.46 percent. Overnight on Wall Street, the Nasdaq closed down at 26,081.73, while the S&P 500 slipped to 7,591.70, as investors weighed the European Central Bank’s recent rate rise. In company news, Trainline reported flat first-half ticket sales of £3.3 billion and a new £100 million share buyback. Berkeley Group reaffirmed its £1.4 billion four-year profit target, though it flagged subdued buyer demand amid ongoing Middle East disruption. On currencies, sterling firmed against the US dollar and euro, but eased against the Swiss franc and yen, while Bitcoin slipped against the pound. In commodities, copper and gold edged higher, while Brent crude and natural gas eased back.
