Marcus waited forty-two minutes on a plastic chair at a DBS branch in Tampines just to collect a cashier’s order. Next to him was a heavy frosted glass door where selected clients entered without queueing. One month later, after consolidating three hundred and fifty thousand Singapore dollars, he walked through that exact door into a completely different banking system.
What Marcus did not know is that Priority Banking is only the first of three distinct wealth thresholds in Singapore.
In this video, we break down the exact numbers, official MAS rules, and banking mechanics across all three levels:
1. Level One: Priority Banking (S$350,000 AUM)
Why local banks (DBS Treasures, OCBC Premier, UOB Privilege) require S$350k while foreign banks set lower gates. How live institutional FX spreads, preferential fixed deposit yields (+0.5%), and mortgage discounts over SORA save thousands annually.
2. Level Two: High Net Worth & Accredited Investor Status (S$1,500,000 AUM)
The regulatory line under the MAS Securities and Futures Act. How crossing S$1.5M unlocks wholesale corporate bonds (S$250k min lot sizes), private equity (Blackstone, KKR), structured notes, and Lombard Financing — borrowing at ~3.6% SORA against portfolio collateral to reinvest at 6% yield.
3. Level Three: Private Banking & Family Offices (US$5,000,000+ AUM)
How DBS Private Bank, Bank of Singapore, and Swiss private banks handle ultra-high net worth families. MAS Section 13O and 13U tax exemption schemes, Variable Capital Companies (VCC), family trust structures, direct investment banking access, and Singapore Global Investor Programme (GIP) residency benefits.

💬 The bank does not change its rules when you ask. It changes its rules when your numbers force them to. What is your current threshold, and which tool are you planning to unlock next? Let us know in the comments below.

Sounds more like you qualified to be scammed
If rich just lie low. Put the money in a few banks better. The minute the bank officer know you have spare money, they will invite you to buy expensive investment products.
sounds like a license to scam by tier. the incentive for banks is always to maximize their interest, not yours despite the nice sounding slogan
Not accurate
I am glad CPF treats all it’s customers equally
Lol! Which DBS Treasures centre offers coffee? You can only get a packet of mineral water
lol
lombard financing :O that’s the dream
Interesting channel & video, if you have money, business & investment strategy, frame work (can self learn & gradually build up anyway). At All COST, avoid to use any bank or relationship manager, their aim is lock you in & use your money to grow wealth for the bank or for super rich. Even with basic invesment through public brokerage account on a broad index fund (e.g. S&P500, STI, etc) over 5years or longer, still beat you put your money in bank & ‘believe’ relationship manager will build wealth for you. I have learn through the painful way… hope you don’t have to….
