I’m Japanese… but Singapore McDonald’s may have ruined Japan McDonald’s for me. After living in Singapore, I realised how much I love the McSpicy, Buttermilk Crispy Chicken, curry sauce, chili sauce, and all the bold flavours that Singapore McDonald’s has. But is it actually better than McDonald’s in Japan?
Today, I’m doing a very serious international research project: McDonald’s Singapore vs McDonald’s Japan.
I compared:
the basic cheeseburger
Singapore’s iconic McSpicy
Japan’s classic Teriyaki Burger
seasonal items
desserts
prices
overall satisfaction
Japan McDonald’s is clean, reliable, affordable, and nostalgic. But Singapore McDonald’s has stronger flavours, better chicken, and more personality.
So which McDonald’s is actually better?
Watch until the end to see my final verdict.
Let me know in the comments:
Which country has the better McDonald’s – Singapore or Japan?
And what should I compare next?
KFC Singapore vs Japan?
MOS Burger Singapore vs Japan?
7-Eleven Singapore vs Japan?

I tried the spicy tomato filet o fish once and never again.
I have no idea about the others
Although I suspect that yeah madonalds here seems to be strangely decent
The prices have gone up a lot recently though which kind of ruins everything I havent been to madonald in ages because of that (also its weird to see madonald closing of all things)
Aside from that in the first place is kinda hmmm the big elefan really is the price even then its always really crowded most of the time
シンガポールの圧勝ですね。マックスパイシー今度食べてみます!ベーコンポテトパイは確かにしょっぱすぎです。昔はこんなにしょっぱくなかった気がしますが。。
If you like spiciness, obviously Singapore McDonald’s will easily beat Japan McDonald’s for obvious reason. Generally speaking, traditional Japanese cuisine values subtle, umami-rich flavors over fiery heat, meaning the average Japanese palate has a relatively low tolerance for chili spice. When traditional dishes do feature a kick, it usually comes from nasal-clearing, fast-fading ingredients like wasabi or karashi (Japanese mustard) rather than hot peppers. So, I don’t think think it’s a very fair comparison.
I prefer the quarter pounder for more quality and juicy hamburger.
Would prefer Japan’s breakfast menu over singapore’s. Love their mega muffin burger.
Perhaps the Japanese government want to discourage people from eating western foods and go for local food. That’s why they make the burgers dry.
Come on ghbi ojisan! Let’s not use AI art!
you should have brought SG macs chilli to japan to eat it with the burgers….
