Japan’s #1 Yakitori Chain FINALLY Opened in Singapore!!

Torikizoku, Japan’s #1 yakitori izakaya chain is finally opening in Singapore and this is my review as a Japanese. I went to Torikizoku at least 100 times and I want to know if it lives up to its hype and have Singapore-exclusive menus.
The new outlet located at #01-104/105 Vivocity will have its grand opening on 15 Jun. It is open to the public from 29 May, although the menu offerings will be limited.

I was invited for this media tasting, but this is not a paid review.

  • At ~$1.80-$2 per skewer, pricing is somewhere in the middle. In terms of quality, Toriki seems to be closer to mall basement’s toriQ, so the pricing makes sense. If they charge too much, like $2.50 to $3.50 per skewer, the value proposition needs to catch up to local izakayas, otherwise our price-sensitive locals will smell something fishy. That’s why sushiro is doing so well!

  • I was just in Toriki in Ueno with a friend for dinner and the total bill came up to 5,885 yen. Really worth it. Especially the 390 yen MEGA HIGHBALLS!

  • I love how wifey just suddenly talks and you suddenly realise she is also there with Ghib. Actually I always wonder if he brings wifey to all the media invite events.
