🏰✨ Most people think Sweden’s castles are all in Skåne but Tjolöholm in Halland proves otherwise
This fairytale castle was built between 1898–1904 for Blanche Dickson, inspired by English Tudor style and the Arts & Crafts movement. At the time it was one of the most modern homes in Sweden – with electricity, central heating, and even futuristic bathrooms that look like something from a sci-fi movie.
🌿 Around the castle you’ll find award-winning gardens, walking trails, a small historic village, and even a beach by the sea, all free to explore. Inside, guided tours take you through 35 richly decorated rooms filled with original furniture and Art Nouveau details.
⏳ Plan 2–3 hours if you want to see both the castle and the grounds. There’s also a café, exhibitions, a museum in the old village, and seasonal events like Christmas markets.
🌳 Stroll the gardens, beach & historic village for free🎟 Guided castle tour: 185 SEK adults / 75 SEK kids
🎟 Explore at your own pace: 170 SEK adults / 45 SEK kids
Perfect for history, photos & a day trip by the sea 🌊
