I Visit Singapore’s NEWEST Underground Food Street

There’s a place in Singapore that I somehow completely missed. 🌸 Sake Ichiba MOTHER’S DAY PROMO! For every purchase of 720ml Singapore Label Sake, get the 300ml version (same label) for free! While stocks last. T&C below applies.
*valid for orders placed by 10th May 2026
*complimentary 300ml label will be of the same label
*300ml label will not appear in cart but will be included in your order
*legal drinking age is 18 in Singapore

It’s a relatively new underground food street linking Chinatown MRT to Telok Ayer MRT – and even though I come to Chinatown all the time, I didn’t even know this existed.
So today, I gave myself a simple challenge: visit at least 10 shops in one day and crown the champion of this underground food street.
From drinks to desserts to proper meals, I’ll score each stop and pick my top choice by the end.
Is this place actually a hidden gem in Singapore… or is there a reason nobody talks about it?

  • Weekend.. almost a ghost town.. 2/3? of the shops closed. I was there last Saturday. Not sure if their biz model is to target only the working crowd.. sustainable? It has potential for a family outing.. if only they do something for the weekends.. activities, food fair, pop up stalls etc just my 2 cents

  • can you review sam Leong st chicken rice!! its in Little India and its the best Hainanese chicken rice (halal) in my opinion. Fight me in the comments!!!
