How much is Norway’s oil fund worth per person? About $400,000. Norway invests its oil and gas revenue in the Government Pension Fund Global, the world’s largest sovereign wealth fund, worth about NOK 22.7 trillion (roughly US$2.27 trillion) in mid-2026. It owns stakes in more than 7,000 companies, about 1.5% of the value of all listed companies on Earth. Norwegians don’t get personal payouts: the government can spend up to 3% of the fund each year through the national budget, and the rest is saved for future generations.
