Inside one of Singapore’s most expensive HDB estates. I explore Queenstown’s Dawson area including SkyVille, SkyTerrace, and SkyParc to find out why prices are so high and what it’s actually like to live here. I tour one of the units, check out the facilities, and even visit a modern food court featuring a Nonya café.

Yes, it have been fully changed into such a development very high HDB housing estate there in Queenstown that I can still remember I was born there in 1956, that it all were low housing building, there was only one tallest building was a red brick 14 storeys in the past and the lowest were only 4 storey floors and no lifts in the building along Strathmore Avenue. The block I was staying/living in the past was one of the 4 storey block actually located below in front of ‘Skyville’ now, that under Lim Yew Hock time, before our family moved out to rented flat in Dover , then moved again to finally to our new apartment flat in Jurong East until now. About quite long time ago I did went there to take a look just walking along the old street Strathmore Avenue but did not know it in new HDB blocks that could enter and visit it because I though it were all private condos that could not be allowed to enter it.
Location, location, location. I grew up in Queenstown, Mei Ling Street. My parents sold , migrated to Australia, bought more real estate in Sydney North Shore. Dad was a humble hawker and mom was a school teacher.
Dawson is in a league of its own and saying from an owner’s point of view. It’s one of those rare HDBs that genuinely ticks every box—prime location, great amenities, and zero ‘new-era’ restrictions. Once you experience the quality here, it’s almost impossible to find a comparable HDB that offers this much freedom and value.
come review punggol point cove HDB 🙂 THE VIEW SUPER NICE!
Why pay $1.7 million for a 99yr govt housing when you can buy a full seaview condo in jb for just $200k?
