Day 1 in Norway 🇳🇴
Here’s exactly what we got up to on a rainy day in Oslo:
☕️ Breakfast at Bonita Cafe & Brunch
🎻 Explored the Norsk Folkmuseum (180NOK / $17 per adult, children 17 and under are free)
🚢 Took the public ferry to residential islands in Oslofjord.
TIP: If you purchase the Oslo 24-hour ticket on the Ruter app, ferry rides are included with other public transit. This can be a budget alternative to the fjord sightseeing cruises. Lindøya is really cute!
🦐 We planned to have lunch at the very cute Gressholmen Kro restaurant on Gressholmen Island. You can get to the restaurant by taking a 5-minute walk through the woods from the ferry port, but sadly they were closed the day we were there.
TIP: Check on their FB page to see if they have any last-minute closures before making the trip.
🐟 (Late!) lunch at Salt. The fish & chips truck here is really good! (205NOK / $19) At night, this is a music venue and looks like it would be really fun!
📸 Walked along the waterfront to see the iconic Oslo sights:
‣ walking on top of the opera house roof (free)
‣ wandering through the fortress (free)
‣ people-watching at the Karl Johans Gate walking street
🥱 We turned in early because walking 20,000+ steps after a 25-hour travel day will wear you out!

So beautiful ❤❤
Oslo doesn’t look congested, crowded and crazy like American cities.
Very nice
When did you go there.
I am an indigenous person from Alaska, and I want to go to Norway, and even have a second home there if possible. Thank you for sharing your trip with us, it’s absolutely beautiful there!
