Singapore’s median household income rises to S$11,297, but netizens cite cost-of-living woes

SingStat reported that median monthly household income rose to S$11,297 in 2024, a 1.4% real increase.

While some welcomed the growth, netizens raised concerns over cost-of-living pressures, job instability, and housing affordability.

Others questioned whether the increase reflects more young Singaporeans staying single and living with their parents due to financial constraints rather than genuine income growth.

  • Opposition channel spent 3.38 minutes doing reporting and spent the next (8.04 – 3.38) = 4,36 minutes bashing the report citing the usual high cost of living and some conspiracy theories. Their true intention is so obvious! Bashing almost every report that highlighted the positive actions of the government maybe letting one or two go so that they can be viewed as an independent unbiased channel. Notice I never go to Worker Party channel because they do not hide their affiliations. This channel is a wolf in sheep clothings.

  • This is not true as this sum has to be determined by looking at the differet wage groups not taken in total. For eg. A minister draws nearly 1 million and the lower income about $1300
