Prices for apartments in Norway

Ever wondered about the prices of renting an apartment or room in Norway? Well, here’s a few numbers to get you in the right direction!

Here are the example prices that I mentioned in the video:

Room in Oslo – around 5000 – 7000 NOK

Room in Oslo via Studentskipnaden – 3000-5000 including most expenses (though you’ll be sharing a kitchen, maybe bathroom and usually there is a washing room for the whole building to share or so)

Room in a smaller city – Anything from 3500 up to maybe 6000 or 7000, though 4000-5000 is a good number to think of

Apartments in Oslo – 10 000 is a good starting point, though ”good” places usually go for 12 000 – 14 000 NOK

Apartment in a smaller town – 7000 – 12 000 is a good guess. Smaller places can get down to somewhere around 7000 with the good places of higher quality and better location is usually around 10 000 – 12 000

Apartments via Studentskipnaden – 4000 – 6000 is a pretty good ballpark, though there are options both below and above. Facileties and location will make the biggest difference in price, and also these apartments are usually reserved for couples and families with the avalibility being small and the waiting list long

Of course, not all prices and places are going to be like this. You might find something nice for less than what I’ve mentioned, or you might find something costing more. For the most part it’s a privately rented marked, so prices can vary up a lot.
