Internet giant Tencent’s share price in Hong Kong rose 8.8 percent today to 472 Hong Kong dollars after the firm repurchased 280 million Hong Kong dollars worth of its shares over the last three trading days. The firm’s stock had dropped by 40 percent since it hit a record high in January.
