You have great interviewing skills, I loved the interview you did with Perry Kauffman. Why don’t you do more interviews of this type with other renowned algorithm traders like Andrea Unger, to give an example, or someone for whom I also have a great admiration and high respect as I have for yourself, and that is David Bergstrom the man behind the Build Alpha software. The best publicly available software for validating strategies with a countless number of excellent robustness tests.

Hi Ali, What criteria you use for deciding the other filter? do you looked at the return on max drawdown above 3 like you mentioned or something else?

Maybe this works on futures. But on forex CFDs it fails due to trading cost and high swap rates.

USDJPY tends to go up because of the current interest rate differential – you can’t blindly follow this bias forever as this is subject to change… The same could be said for any two major currencies with a large interest rate differential.

This isn’t an edge, it’s just curve fitting. If this strategy was profitable on both longs and shorts, I’d consider it a robust edge – for now it’s just curve fitting!
