  • A “twiddle” is when a player turns the racket 180 degrees to change the forehand to the backhand side and vice versa. This is often done by players with very different rubbers on opposite sides of the racket. In this case, the twiddle is used because the player is using a rubber with a harder sponge on the forehand side (his black rubber), so he twiddles so that the red rubber, which is softer and springier, will be on the forehand instead. Since the ball is high after a lob, less spin is needed… and the red rubber should give the ball more speed. 8>)

  • Man, I really wish I could play against you! I’m from Singapore too. I used to play table tennis, but I fell sick a lot and only quit when I was in primary school-never really got the chance to really get better
