I wish I knew about this 8 years ago when I first started working in the US as a Canadian and have been doing exchanges just through my regular bank. You literally save 3% when you do an exchange through CanAm Currency Exchange rather than a bank. Don’t pull a Joseph 😅, try this way!

America is not safe to visit. Gun battles and mass shootings are a common occurrence. There is no health care available unless you are rich enough to own your own hospital. Every daybthe sacrifice a full class of school children to the worship of assault rifles.
CanAm Exchange had a kiosk at Devonshire Mall in Windsor, ON, for at least two decades since I was a kid. Since I didn’t zip back and fourth to the States, I didn’t use it.
BTW, were you on the shores of Lake Ontario or Erie?
sure you lose money but things in usa are dirt cheap. so 75$ in usa could get you as far and 100$ in canada.
like when i go to waffle house and order pancakes, with eggs + bacon and a coffee… it comes out to 13$. that same meal at a canadian business would cost me 25$
Burlington and Hamilton have Continental Currency Exchange … is there a difference from one to the other?
I bank with a Military Bank. They only charge me 1% fee of whatever I take out internationally at the ATM and as well refunds me the ATM fee also
Thank you!
sadly during Covid credit card that didn’t charge FX fees got changed from a MC to Visa (with fees)…so many currency tricks still out there 😉
Thanks so much Joseph! Does your friend have location near the Blue Water Bridge?
